UI/UX Designer
HKUST Main Site
The client's mission is to cultivate bold, visionary innovators and deliver transformative solutions to humanity's most pressing challenges. To bring that vision to life, we designed and developed a comprehensive web ecosystem - one that bridges institutional ambition with a seamless, intuitive digital experience.

What We Built
More than just code and pixels, we saw this project as an opportunity to build a living, adaptable ecosystem.
Audience-Centric Navigation
The top menu segments links by user type (Students, Staff, Alumni) for direct, targeted access to specific portals.
Clear Information Architecture
The main menu prevents clutter by grouping massive amounts of content into seven intuitive pillars (e.g., Academics, Admissions, Life).

Proactive Search
The search tool anticipates user needs by offering clickable "Popular Search" suggestions, such as the "Application Portal."
Inclusivity & Accessibility:
The site features prominent language toggles (English, Traditional/Simplified Chinese) and adheres to digital accessibility standards.

Revitalizing HKUST: A Unified Digital Experience
For this project, our primary focus was updating the UI and introducing interactive elements to give HKUST a fresh, modern look. To ensure cross-departmental alignment, we navigated multiple rounds of low-fidelity iterations until the client was fully satisfied, before advancing to the high-fidelity design stage.
Adapting for Small Screens
Translating the robust desktop experience into a streamlined, tactile mobile journey that keeps users engaged.
